Steam Drops Free Download For Terrifying New Horror Game

Resident Evil meets Indiana Jones.

Steam has just dropped a free demo for a terrifying upcoming spooky game, and it might be worth checking out for any fans of horror.

Edge of Evil is a first-person survival horror game that I can only describe as Resident Evil meets H.P. Lovecraft meets Indiana Jones.

It’s set inside a locked underground crypt that has long been abandoned, where an ancient seal has been broken upon your entry, letting out various demons and other creatures from a shadowy realm.

Some of the creature designs in Edge of Evil look particularly frightening, and it feels like this will be one for fans of horror gaming to keep their eyes on as the project develops.

If you’d like to try a bit of the game for yourself ahead of its release though, developer WRF Studios has now released a new demo for Edge of Evil on Steam which should provide you with enough frights.

Check out the trailer for Edge of Evil below, which showcases some of the game’s creature design as well as giving you a glimpse of its eerie underground scenery. As you can see, it looks pretty spooky.

What Is Edge Of Evil About?

“Long before kings claimed crowns, before men carved kingdoms from wilderness, a secret cult worshiped an ancient entity known only as The Veiled One... an entity that can travel between hosts,” reads the description for Edge of Evil on its Steam store page.

“They built this crypt as both a temple and prison. Legends say a ritual went wrong: instead of summoning the entity, they trapped it here, sealed beneath stone and sigil.”

The game description adds: “Edge of Evil is a horror experience that will take you deep below, through dark twisted passages and into the depths of a long forgotten locked crypt in search of answers to an ancient seal that has been broken, unleashing a powerful presence from the mysterious ‘Black World’.

“Realistic graphics and immersive sounds as well as a minimal user interface ensure a totally visceral horror experience; forcing you to continuously question your own senses... just beyond, and right up to the edge…”

As for when Edge of Evil is expected to be released, WRF Studios has not given a date yet. On the Steam store page, the full game is simply listed as “Coming Soon”, so it’s possible we may hear more about it at some point next year.
