The Elder Scrolls 6 official trailer is just making fans sad

When will The Elder Scrolls 6 be released?

Without question alongside the likes of Grand Theft Auto VI, one of the most highly anticipated video games of all time is The Elder Scrolls VI.

Announced during E3 2018, fans of Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls series were buzzing with excitement when we were treated to the reveal trailer of The Elder Scrolls VI. Unfortunately for us, it’s been nearly six years since its reveal and will still know practically nothing about the game.

It’s quite baffling to think that all these years later, fans are still left in the dark about the development progress of the sixth-numbered entry in Bethesda’s ever-popular fantasy RPG series. We don't know what story it will tell, where it will be set or what it will look like. We don't even have a release date. That being said, some fans do believe that the location of The Elder Scrolls VI may have been teased in Starfield years ago.

Naturally, fans are disappointed with the lack of news and some are even worried that The Elder Scrolls VI might not even be released on the Xbox Series X/S and might be a next-gen title. Which let's be honest, is not outside the realms of possibility at this point. With that in mind, fans on Reddit have been sharing their grief not knowing when The Elder Scrolls VI will be released.

“The Elder Scrolls VI official announcement teaser was released five years ago today,” exclaimed Harrison Allen. “It was 10 June 2018 after the Fallout 76 gameplay reveal and the Starfield announcement.” At the time of writing, it’s now been six years since that announcement.

“I had just graduated high school when the The Elder Scrolls VI trailer was released, and I was so excited to play the game in college. Anyway, I just finished college,” replied Ziqox123, putting into perspective just how long we’ve all been waiting.

“I managed to finish college, get a job, a girlfriend, and have two cats and that damn game still doesn't have any proper info out,” said a frustrated traum0799. “Well, I think the common belief at that point was no, the game wasn't right around the corner, but that it would likely be out by now. At this point, I've run out of guesses. No further info, no leaks, no anything,” replied a disappointed Traditional_Entry183.

As you can imagine, much of the Reddit thread shares a similar sentiment. Hopefully, in the coming months, Bethesda might treat us to some gameplay and at least a release window, but I won't be holding my breath.
