The latest update for Elden Ring has been rolled out across all platforms, and PC and new-gen console players are in for a real treat.

Elden Ring might be over a year old now, but with the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC coming soon, there’s still so much hype for it. I’ve been resisting the urge to start a New Game+ file for weeks now because the thought of facing something potentially worse than Malenia in the DLC with the added NG+ buffs is absolutely terrifying.

Take a look at some of Elden Ring’s most cursed mods below.

As IGN reports, a huge new feature has just been added in the latest free update which is sure to make any trek through the Lands Between look better than ever before. For PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X owners, ray tracing has been added - you’ll just need to head into your game options to make sure it’s turned on. It's a shame that this wasn't a thing when the game first came out, but better late than never, right?

Publisher Bandai Namco has warned that your resolution and frame rate could be impacted if you choose to play with ray tracing on, so if your PC is lacking in power, using the new graphics mode might not be the best idea for you. According to the patch notes, at minimum you’ll need to be running Windows 10, have 16GB RAM, and be using an AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT or Intel Core i5-10600K processor. Additionally, you’ll need either a 12GB AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or 8GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card. If these are the specs you’re working with, it’s recommended that you set the graphics to low quality with low ray tracing.

As you’d expect, loads of balance adjustments have been made, too, and one is rather surprising. In the patch notes, it’s revealed that the devs have “increased the speed, range and recovery time of some attacks” for Great Hammers, Great Axes, Great Swords and Curved Greatswords. That means that one of the game’s greatest weapons, the Bloodhound’s Fang, has been buffed. Good lord. Maybe we'll need it for whatever the DLC has in store.
