Elden Ring DLC could include another Malenia fight, oh no

It seems that Malenia, Blade of Miquella could be making a return in the upcoming Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree.

FromSoftware fans are speculating that the recently announced Elden Ring DLC could include another Malenia boss fight. Yippie!

Without giving too much away, in Elden Ring, at some point, you have to go to war with Malenia, Blade of Miquella. For some, she is not only the toughest boss in Elden Ring but perhaps one of the most challenging in all of the FromSoftware games which is certainly saying something.

Take a look at some of our favourite Elden Ring wins and fails.

Thankfully, the Malenia boss fight is optional in Elden Ring. However, should you choose to avoid this epic encounter, it could be argued that you won't experience all that Elden Ring has to offer. However, those that chose to go to war with Malenia will likely still feel the mental battle scars today. Sadly, it seems that you might have to go through all that trauma yet again. That’s at least what fans are speculating following the announcement of the Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree.

The reason fans believe that Malenia might be making a triumphant return is due to the piece of artwork used to announce Shadow of the Erdtree. The artwork in question features the Erdtree in the backdrop looking rather sorry for itself.

At the forefront of the artwork is an unnamed character on the back of what looks to be Elden Ring's horse Torrent. What’s more, this person looks suspiciously like Miquella, Malenia's older brother. Over on Reddit, fans theorised that Malenia in her prime may be drafted into the story. User jdyhrberg wrote, "I say this every time. Phase three Miquella fight where he spirit summons Malenia," while dragonslayer_697 added, "We are gonna fight Miquella and Malenia together and it'll be like the twin princes or something." Sanjay-jurt also pointed out that Radahn could return in his prime younger form. Help.

At this time, no release date has been announced for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Hopefully, we might see it release for PC, PlayStation and Xbox by the end of this year. Whenever the highly anticipated DLC does arrive, it seems we will once again be calling upon the services of the legend that is Let Me Solo Her.
