A Resident Evil player has discovered a hilarious easter egg nine years after the release of the game.

I love it when the video game community finds a cool easter egg, especially when it’s close to a decade later, and that’s exactly what’s happened with this hilarious Resident Evil discovery.

The discovery in question relates to 2017’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, a game that is credited by many for getting the iconic Capcom survival horror series back on track.

Before the release of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, it was somewhat of a barren time for RE fans. Basically, because 2005’s Resident Evil 4 was such a huge success, blending action and horror, Capcom thought that fans wanted more action over horror, for whatever reason. So to say that the 12-year-long wait was agonising would be an understatement.

What Is the RE7 Easter Egg in Question?

In a nutshell, Ethan Winters, who’s searching for his missing wife, Mia, apparently has a secret YouTube channel that no one knew about. I mean, if it’s not confusing enough that she was thought dead, ended up at the Baker family compound, she’s also a secret wannabe social media star.

“Fun easter egg in RE7 - Mia's YouTube channel,” revealed Redditor Mechagouki1971.

“For some reason, I took it upon myself to check the filename on the message you see on Mia's laptop during the ship flashback videotape sequence,” they explained.

“I put the filename into Google, and it linked me to a YT account - only three subscribers and 223 views ever. I love when Capcom does this kind of thing. You all should go view, like and subscribe - let's make Mia a famous YouTuber!”

At the time of writing, Mia’s YouTube channel has 295 subscribers, and the one video has over 3,300 views. You can check it out for yourself here. Oh, and don’t forget to Like and Subscribe.

“I hope it's not just Ethan refreshing,” joked Dull-Law3229.

“Mia! Get off YouTube and raise your daughter!” ordered Calacaelectrica.

“Capcom didn't create this channel; it was possibly a random person,” declared S1K0LL.

While it is very likely this channel was created by a random person, many Reddit users point out that it was published a few days before the launch of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.

Sure, someone could have clipped it from an early copy or something and uploaded it, but I prefer to believe that this was a subtle plant by Capcom. Let us know what you think.
