Resident Evil Requiem isn't Capcom’s only game in the series that’s nearing its completion.

If you’re reading this, then you’ll already be well aware and very much looking forward to the release of Resident Evil Requiem early next year. In the next entry in Capcom’s iconic survival horror series, we’ll be going back to Raccoon City, nearly 30 years after the T-Virus incident.

Resident Evil Requiem will have at least one new playable protagonist with Grace Ashcroft, daughter of the news reporter, Alyssa Ashcroft, who was in the Resident Evil Outbreak games. What’s more, rumours have suggested that post-launch DLC may have Alyssa returning as a playable character.

Resident Evil Remakes Galore!

You may also be aware that Capcom reportedly has more than one remake in the works.

Rumours have claimed that the original Resident Evil game is getting another remake, so is Resident Evil Zero, and perhaps even Resident Evil 5 will be thrown into the mix.

Another game that has been heavily rumoured to get a long-awaited remake is Resident Evil Code: Veronica, which was originally released on the SEGA Dreamcast in 2000.

As brought to our attention by Rely on Horror, video game industry insider, Dusk Golem claims sources have said that development on the Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake is “going super well”, and it will be to the standard of Resident Evil 4 [I assume the 2023 remake].

A Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake Is Overdue!

What’s more, it’s claimed that development is going so well in fact, that it’s “ahead of [Capcom’s] internal schedule” and that “they're very confident in what they're making.”

Code Veronica Remake is going super well from what I've heard, like RE:4 levels of good (which is funny since a lot of the same people). Going so well that it's actually ahead of their internal schedule and they're very confident in what they're making. https://t.co/588lI2PaPt

Out of all the remakes possible, Resident Evil Code: Veronica is the one I’d love to see most.

t’s considered to be the last original game in the series that used its infamous tank controls, and as much as I love that game, it’s perhaps showing its age, given that it’s a quarter of a century old, at this point.

It’s always worth keeping in mind that the words of Dusk Golem are unconfirmed rumours at this point, despite being somewhat of a reliable informant.

That being said, I am a firm believer in there being no smoke without fire, and given the success of other Resident Evil remakes, a remake for Code: Veronica does not feel outside the realm of possibility. We’ll update you if we learn more.

As for Resident Evil Requiem, that’s scheduled to be released on 27 February 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
