Resident Evil Requiem fans are scratching their heads at this easter egg mystery that is yet to be solved.
Resident Evil Requiem launched last week, and to say that it’s been a hit with gamers would be an understatement. Take, for example, the concurrent player numbers on the PC platform Steam.
As of two days ago, according to SteamDB, Resident Evil Requiem has achieved an incredible all-time high of 344,214 concurrent players, and at the time of writing, that number sits at 181,707. Which isn't too shabby for a single-player game, to say the least. Oh, and that’s not even taking into account console statistics.
Resident Evil Requiem Earns My First 10/10!
“As a horror game in its own right, Resident Evil Requiem is a very solid nine out of ten, but as a passionate fan of the series, it earns an additional bonus point thanks to the attention to detail and craft that’s gone into every pore of this game,” said in my review. “Resident Evil Requiem is my Game of the Year so far and has earned my very first 10/10 in my three years at GAMINGbible.
One of the other great things that I love about this Capcom series is how much replayability that it has, something that has been present since the first game was released in 1996.
Advert
From alternative costumes, weapons, modes and campaigns, this series has plenty of content to keep you coming back for more, and Resident Evil Requiem is no exception.
In Resident Evil Requiem, you have a list of ‘Challenges’ to complete in-game. These can vary from campaign completion, finding collectables, slicing the tongue of a Licker, and more. Completing Challenges will earn you ‘Completion Points’ that can then be spent on various unlockables.
This Mystery Has Left Resident Evil Fans Baffled
“I have spent hours decoding Resident Evil Requiem's 'Final Puzzle', an unsolved complex Easter Egg. Here's everything I've found so far,” said Redditor The_Synth_Potato. Just a heads up, please be mindful of spoilers in the Reddit post.
The ‘Final Puzzle in question will earn you a juicy 20,000 CP, and its ominous description reads “Let the sweet pair hear the voice,” whatever on earth that means.
In the video shared by The_Synth_Potato, some of the steps involved in solving this puzzle include a series of abbreviations, an hourglass, equations, solving another in-game puzzle and a severed hand (we all know that Capcom loves severed hands).
“The first person who solves this will earn their place in Resident Evil history, good luck continuing this hunt!” said The_Synth_Potato.
The Reddit thread is full of fellow users offering their suggestions on how the puzzle might be solved, but at least at the time of writing, this puzzle hasn't been solved yet. However, with the internet being the internet, it’s only a matter of time (hopefully).
