Dino Crisis 2 has been given a gorgeous remake by fans, beating Capcom to the punch once again.

With how many Resident Evil remakes we’ve received so far, it’s genuinely unbelievable that Capcom hasn’t given us a Dino Crisis remake yet, what is it waiting for?

It’s not like dinosaurs aren’t cool anymore, so why not bring back this beloved survival horror?

At the time of writing, it seems there are no plans to give us the official remakes we deserve, but at least Capcom has implied it’s open to the idea one day, and you can also play the original games on modern hardware thanks to them being preserved on GOG and PlayStation.

Fans have also been putting the work in, as an HD remake is on the way with a demo available right now.

It’s being brought to us by Cagnani, and you can find the playable demo online, but be aware there could be some technical issues.

Unreal Engine 5 has been used to give Dino Crisis 2 a fresh coat of paint, and the results speak for themselves as it’s come a long way from its days on the original PlayStation.

The remake isn’t perfect, however, as it takes away the fixed camera angles from the original and replaces them with an over-the-shoulder perspective, like the early Resident Evil remakes did.

While I’d probably prefer the fixed camera if Capcom does decide to remake the Dino Crisis games, this is probably how we can expect them to be delivered, but if it worked for Resident Evil, it’ll probably work here too right?

Give it a go for yourself if you’re curious, or check out the re-releases on either GOG on PC, or the official PlayStation store on PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5.

If you have PlayStation Plus Premium, I’m pretty sure Dino Crisis will be available for you to play at no additional cost as well.
