Fans such as myself have been begging Capcom for a Dino Crisis remake or sequel for years now, and it turns out we're not the only ones who want it.
Capcom itself apparently wants to make new games for the series, but has been met with several roadblocks preventing projects from getting off the ground.
These reports come from Capcom leaker Dusk Golem who generally shares news and updates on the latest Resident Evil games, including the supposed Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake as well as Resident Evil: Requiem.
Recently the leaker said there have been "a couple attempts in the last decade to remake Dino Crisis, the first by Capcom Vancouver before they were shut down" and the second "a few years ago but just wasn't turning out good so it got scrapped."

Now take these "leaks" with a pinch of salt as Dusk Golem isn't always accurate, but given the popularity of the Dino Crisis franchise and Capcom's success with remakes it does make you wonder why Dino Crisis hasn't been brought back yet.
On the bright side while you can't play a remake anytime soon the original games have been preserved for modern platforms. On PC you can play them through GOG which has an extensive track record of preserving classic games and plans to continue its approach well into the future.
Alternatively PlayStation users can play the first game either through the PlayStation Plus Classics catalogue, or by. simply buying it outright, though at the time of writing Dino Crisis 2 isn't available just yet.
Hopefully once a few more Resident Evil titles have been released Capcom will finally get a new Dino Crisis project up and running, as there's so much potential for a remake or even a new entry with today's video game technology.
