The world is currently enraptured with Grand Theft Auto VI and rightly so. The first trailer looks truly phenomenal. That being said, believe it or not, there are other updates to take note of in the games industry this week.

One such delightful tidbit of news is that CD Projekt RED has dropped Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.1 bringing some exciting new additions to the game. We were led to believe that Update 2.0, which dropped around the same time as the Phantom Liberty expansion, was Cyberpunk 2077’s last major update but it seems as if CDPR devs just couldn’t stop themselves from adding a few extra features. The update is free and available to download now so do make sure that your copy of the game is up to date. If you’re sitting there thinking that Cyberpunk 2077 couldn’t possibly get any more delicious to look at, this update may have proved you wrong.

Take a look at Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty in action below.

Update 2.1 introduces several new graphical updates, making the game look better than it ever has before. For all players, you should notice overhauled lighting around Night City plus improved visuals of Kiroshi scanner highlights. It’s PC players who will see the biggest difference though. Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode has undergone several ‘quality’ improvements, plus ReSTIR GI has been introduced, improving path-traced lighting further.

There are many other updates and improvements beyond the game’s visuals. A metro system has been added, providing you with an immersive way to travel around the city, plus there are new romance scenes for V at their apartment. You’re also now equipped with a portable radio, car races are replayable, and sightseeing binoculars have been added around the city.

Several new accessibility features have been introduced, V can now be pursued by gangs based on certain decisions made, you can sit at bars and talk to vendors, boss fights have been improved, a new highway has been opened, you can lean while riding bikes, five bikes have been added, a new car is available, and various issues have been patched. You can view the full patch notes. All in all, a stellar update.
