Just when we think we’re finished with Cyberpunk 2077, it pulls us back in. Not that we’re complaining – the game has come a long way since those dark days when it was first released.

In case you’re not aware what we’re talking about, Cyberpunk 2077 has made everyone’s day by announcing a surprise free download filled with all-new content. As you’ll already know, being the devoted fans that you are, most of the CD Projekt Red team that’s been working on Cyberpunk 2077 has transitioned over to The Witcher 4 to help make our Geralt dreams come true.

If you've not played Phantom Liberty, you really need to watch this!

However, while most of the crew has swapped projects, there’s been a lot of hard work behind the scenes to get the 2.1 Patch ready. We honestly believed the publisher when they said Patch 2.0 was the last big update, but it seems no one is ready to say goodbye to this neon post-modern underworld.

In a tweet that’s got fans fired up, CD Projekt Red said, “On December 5th, the same day Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition hits the shelves, we’ll release a free Update 2.1 introducing new and hotly anticipated gameplay elements.” Alongside this unexpected news, the post mentions that fans wanting to learn more can join in with a Q&A over on Twitch with the devs on 1 Dec at 4pm CET (that’s 3pm for UK folks).

You haven’t got long to tune in, so make sure you head over to Twitch if you’re especially eager to know what this juicy new patch includes. Otherwise, it’s a case of waiting just a few days more until 5 Dec when the 2.1 Patch is ready and raring to go.

To tide you over in the meantime (as if you really need anything more), the live-action Cyberpunk 2077 project has been given a widely anticipated timeframe of at least 2025. Still, it is coming.
