CDPR Confirms 'Cyberpunk 2077' DLC Is Its Only Expansion

CD Projekt Red have confirmed that the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty DLC is the game's only planned expansion.

Yesterday, Cyberpunk 2077 fans finally got the news they were hoping for. Keanu Reeves is officially returning to Night City for the upcoming DLC Phantom Liberty. In addition to marking the return of Johnny Silverhand, Phantom Liberty will introduce a whole new cast of characters plus a new region to explore. Since the announcement though, CD Projekt Red have confirmed one major fact about the future of the franchise.

Check out the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty below.

Shortly after the trailer was posted, fans flooded to YouTube’s comment section to share their thoughts. As spotted by Reddit user Til_W, one fan commented, “I love this game so much. I’m so glad to see the team continuing to support it. I hope this isn’t the only expansion,” with another user adding, “If this isn’t the only expansion, I’d happily throw in $20 for the next one.”

The exchange attracted the attention of the game’s community team who responded saying, “Thanks for the kind words! Phantom Liberty is the only planned expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.” Given the game’s disastrous release, it’s a shock that we’re here talking about Phantom Liberty so I guess we won’t push our luck. Hats off to CD Projekt though because Cyberpunk 2077 is truly living up to its potential.

Back in March, CD Projekt did announce that work had begun on the next instalment in The Witcher saga so it’s not a stretch to presume that perhaps resources will soon begin shifting away from Cyberpunk 2077. For now, let’s just revel in the Phantom Liberty announcement.
