Not long into the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 showcase, it was confirmed by Raven Software and Treyarch that Call of Duty Zombies will be going back to its original roots and round-based action.

With Modern Warfare 3, Zombies took on the role of DMZ as the extraction mode was sunset. But now Zombies is doing what it does best.

Call of Duty Zombies is going back to its round-based action. Take a look at Black Ops 6's latest trailer below.

Finally, Zombies is back. Round-based will pick up from where the story left off. There will be two brand-new maps at launch with "tonnes of secrets".

More intel was mentioned and several Zombies exclusive features will be present when the game launches. The community will be thrilled that this will be a proper entry in the Zombies mode, which went more 'DMZ' and disappointed fans.

We didn't get to see much and we may get more of a look at the mode when streamers get their hands on the game in the coming months and everything is shown in a follow-up showcase.

You can expect the humour we usually see, as well as the traps and zombie types you're used to. However, this comes as part of a game set in the 1990s so will we get those authentic old-school weapons from the campaign and multiplayer modes?

What other zombies will we see? There was a hulking, ugly and grisly looking beat in the trailer, so maybe the four player co-op experience will have to face this one early on.

We'll know much more as time passes as the game is set to launch on 25 October this year when it comes to Xbox Game Pass, as well as PC and PlayStation.
