The mysterious The Game Awards statue teaser continues to perplex many, as another game rules itself out of the possible candidates.
In case you missed the news, Geoff Keighley has been hyping up a mysterious statue located out in the desert of Yucca Mesa Road, seemingly linked to an upcoming reveal at The Game Awards due to take place this week.
Theories ranging from The Elder Scrolls VI to Diablo to God of War have been passed around, and yet video game insiders claim that it isn’t related to any of these. Another potential candidate is something FromSoftware related, with many believe it’s Bloodborne 2.
Another game that can now be ruled out is Lord of the Fallen II, following confirmation from the game’s developer.

“Flattered so many think we’re behind that statue,” wrote CI Games’ Marek Tyminski. “Can confirm it’s not us, we’re just as hyped as you are. Devs are praying it’s something FROM. Huge respect to them and we dream of reaching that level one day.”
Tyminski continues the post by teasing “Big news coming for both Lords of the Fallen and Lords II,” with a reveal coming soon.
This leaves Lords of the Fallen II out, essentially resetting the theories of what the mysterious statue game could be.
To add more fuel to the fire, The Game Awards’ official account on X (formerly Twitter) also posted a mysterious teaser, revealing a message with several words redacted.
Could The Statue Be Related To Bloodborne 2?
“The █████ are silent. █████ bleeds. New █████ stir,” the post reads.
With so many people anticipating whether this could be Bloodborne 2 or not, my inkling is that it’s not related to FromSoftware at all.
The statue doesn’t necessarily look like something that appeared in Bloodborne, and it’s probably not going to be Elden Ring 2 or another Dark Souls.
FromSoftware is currently developing The Duskbloods, a Nintendo Switch 2 PvPvE game that looks very similar to Bloodborne, but plays completely differently. When FromSoftware debuted the trailer earlier this year, many compared the game’s setting to Bloodborne’s Yharnam.
My theory is the statue is actually for Saros, the upcoming game from Returnal studio Housemarque. The statue resembles imagery seen in the trailer, and with the game coming in early 2026, The Game Awards seems like the best place to release a new trailer.
I guess we'll all know for sure by the end of the week.
