We can all now rest easy, as it looks like the mystery surrounding that odd Game Awards statue has finally been solved.
Earlier this month, a strange and creepy statue was put up in the Californian desert by Yucca Mesa Road, and it’s been causing quite a stir amongst gaming crowds.
The statue is seemingly related to the upcoming The Game Awards ceremony, as Geoff Keighley and the official Game Awards social media platforms have been hyping it up.
We don’t yet know what the statue is meant to represent, with theories ranging from Bloodborne 2 to a new God of War. It could really be anything, which is how we’ve had all sorts of bonkers ideas come up in conversation.

It seems as though the mystery may have just been solved though, thanks to a new trademark filing by Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian Studios.
As reported by MP1st, Larian has filed three trademarks for a new Divinity property. One of these trademarks is for a logo, and the other two for icons that appear to be related to the logo or promotional material.
What’s quite interesting is that the logo seems to look quite similar to the statue that The Game Awards has been teasing for the past week. Take a look for yourself.
Could a New Divinity be Announced at The Game Awards?
Although this is still speculation for the time being, this could possibly hint at a The Game Awards reveal for a new Divinity game. That might be Divinity: Original Sin 3, or a brand new game in the same universe.
It’s worth noting that Larian Studios itself hasn’t confirmed a new Divinity game, and publishing director Michael Douse (better known as Cromwelp on social media) has also stated that the company doesn’t have “any plans for a new Divinity Original Sin 3 game” at the moment.
To be fair, that doesn't mean there won't be a new Divinity game, it just rules out a new Original Sin title.
This comment also follows a leak suggesting that Divinity: Original Sin 2 is getting a PS5 version, possibly as a shadowdrop during The Game Awards.
Given the huge success of Baldur’s Gate 3, it certainly makes sense that Larian may want to get more players checking out its Divinity series. If you like Baldur’s Gate, there are a lot of similarities between that and Original Sin 2.
For now though, we can probably safely say that the mystery of the Game Awards statue appears to be solved for now. We’ll just wait to see if an official announcement from Larian comes during the show.
