Bethesda Surprises Fallout Gamers, New Expansion Adds 'Years of Content'

More Fallout goodness

It really is a bit of a spectacular time to be a Fallout fan, with Bethesda really pushing out a ton of stuff across their various properties to keep us post-apocalypse explorers happy for months to come.

The headline act is the arrival of Season 2 of the TV show on Prime Video, which is set to debut on 17 December, taking fans back to New Vegas for the first time since the original game released in 2010.

That ties into the arrival of Walton Goggins character, the Ghoul, in Fallout 76, as Bethesda continues to try and roll their existing properties into the show as a cohesive setup for the lore of the franchise.

Rumour also continue to swirl that we may be getting a Fallout 3 remake in the relatively near-future, though we haven't had any confirmation from the developer on that front just yet.

Now, it turns out that arguably the most forgotten of the Fallout games has just received an enormous update, seemingly out of nowhere, that might just make it worth jumping back into.

Fallout Shelter Gets "Years of Content" Overnight

As first reported by PCGamesN, the PC version of Fallout Shelter (which in my opinion is a lot better to play) is getting many of the features that were previously only available in the mobile version of the game.

That includes everything from new quests, to characters and items, all of which should make the game a much more tempting package to play now that everything has rolled out.

As part of their continued efforts with the release of the second season of the show, the update is introducing the "Viva New Vegas" season pass, which draws direct inspiration from the upcoming streaming release.

In addition, the "Power Struggle" questline is out, and that's based on the first season of the Prime Video show, with eight missions that will have you directly interacting with the show's protagonists and morally grey wastelanders.

They have also released other additional content tied to the 25th anniversary of the franchise itself, with six additional quests and some fun new vault dwellers to take advantage of.

The season pass will unfortunately set you back $10/£10, so don't be surprised if you're prompted to buy it the next time you log in. There's still plenty to do without it though, so do give Shelter another visit if you're looking for something to do before Season 2.
