Skyrim-inspired 2025 RPG gets new free DLC with 98% positive ratings

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon players can now pick up a free DLC which adds a load of new content.

The 2025 RPG that was heavily inspired by The Elder Scrolls has been a smash hit with players, charting several thousand players each day that has remained steady over the past year since hitting its 1.0 release.

In the past 12 months, the game has received a large paid expansion, as well as several smaller free DLCs. Most notably, there have been several free DLCs labelled “Bonus Content”.

The latest free DLC to come to Tainted Grail is the fourth Bonus Content pack, released towards the end of July, which adds plenty of new free content to the game.

Bonus Content #4 adds some deadly new tools for players who favour bows and sorcery, with brand new playstyles and unique items to select in your arsenal.

As expected, the DLC adds some new bows and wands, giving you more ways to approach ranged combat and spellcasting. In total, there are seven new bows to collect, and five new wands added.

Most notably, you get the brand new Scalesong Set, a selection of armour pieces which are useful for players using archery. Some bonuses included here offer you increased ranged damage, as well as reduced damage while aiming a bow and reduced bow draw time.

If you’re a mage on the other hand, you get the new Dolorous Pilgrim Set. This is made for magic wielders who draw power from bloodletting, pain, and self-sacrifice. Some of the bonuses in this set include being able to increase health, applying new effects to your attacks, and increasing your mana.

All of this new equipment can be purchased from blacksmiths, but also be found during Wyrdnight as unidentified loot waiting to be discovered by players.

Meanwhile, this new free DLC also features a brand new romance option as an extra. Buying the house in Cuanacht now opens up a romance path with your new neighbour, who has taken an interest in you.

Although the new additions are minimal, the release has also been received positively by Tainted Grail players. As of writing, the Steam reviews currently give the DLC a positive rating of 98% recommendations. If you're unfamiliar with how percentages work, that's pretty high.

“Damn more free DLC?! Way to go Devs!!!!,” reads one review from a player.

“Awesome. Waiting for the next paid DLC. After all of those freebies and continuous support I would buy the next DLC without even seeing what's inside. In this day and age finding developers that care about their game is a unicorn; and it shows,” reads another positive review.
