It’s a good year to be a Legend of Zelda fan, less so if you’re an Elder Scrolls fan. This freebie will appeal to both parties, though.
By the end of 2026, Nintendo Switch 2 owners will be playing a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, whereas Bethesda fans will still be waiting for The Elder Scrolls VI almost a decade after its reveal.
Both groups are waiting for different things, but in the meantime, we’d wholeheartedly recommend checking out this “DLC Scale” mod by JKalenad.
Relics of Hyrule - A DLC Scale Zelda Mod is downloadable now for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Its goal is to “enrich your Skyrim experience with hundreds of new, hidden weapons, armor, spells and dungeons that pay homage to the Zelda universe, linking it to Elder Scrolls lore in a respectful way.”
We have to say it easily accomplishes that goal. The mod is practically flawless, and an excellent blend of what we already know from Skyrim with what we love from The Legend of Zelda.

Just take a look at some of the shared screenshots to see for yourself. The Master Sword patiently waits for its next wielder, and the mythical Majora’s Mask even makes a startling return. Hopefully no crashing moons this time.

While the mod is available on PC right now, it’s not available on consoles, nor will it ever be.
JKalenad addressed those requests on the mod’s page, saying: “Relics of Hyrule will not be on consoles, because if it was ported, it would die, one way or another. End of story. I will not be porting it, nor will I be giving permission for others to port it to any console.”
That’s quite a bummer, but it’s certainly understandable. Aside from technical limitations for mods on consoles, Bethesda can be very picky about what it does and doesn’t allow into Creation Club. Plus, we’re sure Nintendo would have something to say about it.
Relics of Hyrule - A DLC Scale Zelda Mod is exactly what we should have gotten when Skyrim launched on Nintendo Switch in 2017.
For those that don’t know or can’t remember, when Skyrim was ported to Nintendo’s console, it came with Amiibo support. By scanning a Legend of Zelda Amiibo once a day, you’d be able to unlock the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and Link’s Champion's Tunic from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
It was a cute collaboration, but it went no further than that. It would have been nice to see it revisited and expanded for the Nintendo Switch 2 version, but we weren’t that lucky.
Those that still want to give their Skyrim playthrough a true Zelda twist can do so with this stunning expansion, free of charge, of course.
It’s a must-play while you wait for the Ocarina of Time remake and the delayed launch of The Elder Scrolls VI.
