If you’re an Assassin’s Creed fan and you simply cannot wait for the release of Mirage later this year, you may want to check out Assassin’s Creed: Apocalypse which takes players to the jungles of 16th century Cambodia.
Following a disappointing financial year which led to the cancellation of three announced games, Ubisoft are returning to more familiar territory. That’s right. It’s believed we’ll soon be getting annual Assassin’s Creed releases again. Mirage is up next but we already know about Codename Red, Codename Jade, and Codename Hexe too. If you’re open to trying something a little bit different, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice - Apocalypse has just revealed its open-world campaign. There is one catch though. It’s a tabletop game.
Take a look at the trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage below.
Allow me to bring you up to speed. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice is a cooperative board game created by Triton Noir. The brand new Apocalypse expansion was revealed back in March and is set in the Khmer Empire during the 1500s, an area now known as modern-day Cambodia. Now, we’ve got our first look at exactly what the campaign will entail.

As reported by Dicebreaker, revealed in an exclusive trailer, Apocalypse will include a brand new story that puts players in the pursuit of a renegade assassin known as Isabel. Isabel is able to manipulate the minds of her foes using the Apple of Eden, prompting you to track her movements though the Cambodian jungle, overcoming the illusions created by the artifact to try and thwart your attempts.
There are brand new narrative paths and exploration cards, fresh enemies known as Stalkers, plus new elite guards called Vipers and Furies. Vipers will wield poisoned katar daggers, while Furies are stealth-based infiltrators. You’ll also have to contend with jungle-based threats like venomous vipers (or you could direct these towards the enemy). Rope daggers have also been introduced. It sounds like great fun. A release date and price are yet to be announced, but you can follow the expansion’s progress on Kickstarter.
