It may almost be time to don that pirate hat, slip on the hidden blade and set sail as a recent comment by an Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag star may finally give us the last clue we needed about a potential remake.
First released back in 2013, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has solidified itself as one of the most-loved entries in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise.
As the sixth major instalment in the series, Black Flag takes players to the West Indies during the Golden Age of Piracy as players follow Welsh pirate and assassin Edward Kenway as he hunts for treasures and the mythical location known as the Observatory.
However, he soon finds himself embroiled in the Assassin-Templar conflict and it is his adventures that make Black Flag one of the most popular in the franchise.

Rumours surrounding a remake have been swirling for years but due to a recent comment by Edward Kenway actor Matt Ryan, one may arrive sooner than we thought.
During an interaction at the Nightmare Weekend convention, one fan got more than they bargained for as part of their autograph session.
Reportedly, Ryan asked the fan if they had beaten Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The fan responded that they had, which led Ryan to say that they “may need to beat it again”, adding, "There's a reason I say that but I can't say."
The actor offered no more information but as you can imagine, many fans believe this means a remake is finally on the way.

Ryan’s comments have not been confirmed by Ubisoft so it is still worth taking with a pinch of salt, but if anybody was to know about a remake, it would be Edward Kenway himself.
The interaction was recorded and posted on the Super Dropkick Twitter account and since then, fans have descended onto the comments with their thoughts.
“I’d buy that day one,” one comment read.
“We will be there,” another fan added.

Hopefully this is not another red herring but if true, it may not be long until we finally get the long-awaited Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake in our hands.
