The success of Marvel Rivals has been pretty astounding in a world where so many multiplayer hero games already exist. As well as admittedly having a very solid gameplay experience, it is a living testament to the seemingly eternal popularity of the characters created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby et. Al.
It's little wonder then that thoughts are turning to how they can be utilised elsewhere, while avoiding the significant mistakes of the single-player Marvel games in recent years.
As first reported by Variety in conversation with EA President Laura Miele, there are currently unannounced Disney games in the works at the development and publishing behemoth, with many now speculating that Marvel is the focus of those.
Miele confirmed that there is an Iron Man game on the way, the exact breakdown of which remains unclear, but she also confirmed "a few others that haven't been announced yet" and fans are torn over exactly what the best case scenario is for those.

"Marvel Battlefront. I know some of y'all hate the idea but imagine the potential. Avengers and SHIELD aren’t the only factions they can use. Imagine Savage Land, Skrulls, Kree, Nova Corp, Sable International vs Inner Demons in a knockoff Spider-Man PS4 scenario," one said over on Reddit.
Others hated that plan, with one saying, "I like Battlefront, but the idea of playing as some generic secret agent or grunt in a fantastical over the top setting like the Marvel universe instead of an actual superhero most of the time doesn't sound very appealing."
Some also wanted Disney to look elsewhere at their other popular IPs, rather than relying too heavily on Marvel and Star Wars, "Would love a big Pirates of the Caribbean game, similar to The Great Circle. I could see EA pulling off a Tron game though."
Whatever they do decide to do next, there is already a certain amount of bated breath at the prospect, so it's likely going to be pretty hype when it's confirmed exactly what we are getting.
