Fans desperate for EA and Disney to develop Star Wars: Battlefront III are taking matters into their own hands, and it seems they’ve received a bit of support from one of the actors behind the latest entry in the Star Wars franchise…
It’s been almost eight years since Star Wars: Battlefront II released back in November 2017, which is probably why the player count on Steam is below 1,000 right now.
Oh, wait, sorry, it was below 1,000… last month. Right now it’s peaking at around 9,200. So what spurred this random spike in player count?

Well from what I can tell, it was sort of an unplanned movement that snowballed into something. A lot of players returned to the game following Star Wars Day, May 4th, and then a lot of players returned again following the finale of season two of Andor.
Since then, it seems the community is doing everything they can to keep that number ticking upwards. Long-time players are returning, and the news of its resurgence is inspiring new players to take up the game too.
This is undoubtedly what caught the attention of Muhannad Ben Amor, who played Wilmon in Andor, to reveal his support for a third entry in the series in a recent Instagram post.
“Grew up with Battlefront II,” Amor revealed (per Comicbook), “Been a veteran since day one. Let’s HOPE Battlefront III happens!”

So, what’s the chances of this actually inspiring EA into making a new Star Wars: Battlefront title?
I think this increase in player count is extremely impressive, but these current numbers aren’t quite enough, I fear.
Still, it does seem to be steadily increasing with each passing day, so perhaps it could get to the point that EA will actually take notice. Here’s hoping, because while Battlefront II did have its problems (including a disastrous launch), it’s still a pretty solid game overall… and I think we all know we’d be lining up around the block for a third entry.
