A new Iron Man has been on the cards for some time now, and finally after much anticipation, Marvel has offered a first glimpse of this transformation.

Oftentimes, Marvel characters are forever in a state of flux.

Be it as part of the ever-evolving MCU lineup or via the comic books that ignited our passion for superheroes.

Consequently, variation is never totally unexpected.

Still, seeing Iron Man return like this is definitely a change of pace.

We’re used to seeing Tony Stark looking polished, his high-tech Iron Man suit indicative of not only his knowledge but wealth as well.

However, this new Iron Man is more... improvised.

In this new chapter in the hero’s journey, award-winning journalist and writer, Spencer Ackerma, will make his Marvel debut.

Having been failed by his own technology, Stark must come up with a reimagined suit, aka the Improvised Iron Man Armour.

According to the synopsis, this suit is “assembled throughout the series as Tony does what he does best — tinkering and upgrading it to counter anything the world throws at him.”

It isn’t just his aesthetic that’s getting an upgrade – or maybe we should say downgrade? - it’s also the man himself.

“He's a lot angrier than he used to be. Iron Man is going to war! He's determined to never hit rock bottom again,” the outline continues.

This stripped back Steampunk-esque era of Iron Man will be available to fans from 23 October.

As is typical of these kinds of releases, there’s a standard cover for the issue as well as several variants.

Change is on the horizon for the MCU, too.

Not only has the MCU’s Spider-Man replacement been renamed, but fans are theorising that The Avengers 6 will mark the end of the MCU as we know.

Tentatively, though, we’re excited to see where Marvel takes us next.
