For a couple of months now, one question has been asked by Battlefront fans.
Could Star Wars Battlefront 3 really be a possibility?
Well, while it’s yet to be confirmed by EA, I’d say we’re about as close to a ‘yes’ as we can possibly be.
Fans have been flocking back to the game in recent months, causing an unexpected resurgence in the game’s player count.

If you look at the count on Steam, for example, the game’s all-time peak was set just 18 days ago.
That’s wild for a game that launched eight years ago.
Why did this happen? It’s pretty hard to pinpoint a particular reason.
Revenge of the Sith returning to cinemas for its 20th anniversary delighted many Star Wars fans, with Star Wars Celebration providing a platform for that hype to continue back in April.

And then, of course, the final season of Andor dropped which dazzled us all. Perhaps Fortnite’s Galactic Battle season even contributed to the yearning.
Whatever the reason, fans flocked back but it goes without saying that many of these fans likely would have already owned the game.
I know that’s the situation for several of my friends who dove back in.
It’s one thing for EA to see a player resurgence but in order to greenlight a sequel, it’s going to want to see cash rolling in too.

A recent development has proven though that that is now starting to happen.
According to GSD, Germany’s official game charts, Star Wars Battlefront 2 was the top-selling game in the country last month, in June.
That’s exactly the kind of information that’s going to sway EA towards ordering a sequel.
The game was up seven places from its ranking in May, with its June placement seeing it sell above EA Sports FC 25, Elden Ring Nightreign, EA Sports F1 25, and Grand Theft Auto V.

It goes without saying that we’re going to need to see these kinds of sales in a few more territories if we want to secure that Battlefront 3 announcement but we’re in a great place.
So if you do want a new instalment, don’t just hop back in; urge your friends to pick up a copy.
