The Deus Ex series is one of those classic gaming experiences that every self-respecting player should work through at least once. The only major problem with that is the first game in the series, which has really begun to show its age (which is absolutely fair enough considering it's 25 years old).
Fortunately that won't be a problem for much longer if you're a PS5 player, as a remaster is on the way, and the screenshots show it looking considerably better than it ever has before.
As confirmed during 24 September's State of Play, Deus Ex Remastered is on the way to the PS5, and it should be huge news for players of the console who were otherwise put off by the clunky and dates visuals.
In announcing the game on the PlayStation blog, developer Aspyr confirmed exactly what players can expect when the game drops, "Deus Ex has always been about freedom. When the original title first launched, it redefined what a video game could be, melding RPG elements, action and stealth gameplay, and branching player choices into a cyberpunk immersive sim like nobody else had ever tried," it reads.

"Storm through the front door, hack the security grid, slip past enemies with invisibility cloaks, or talk your way through impossible odds. Every mission, every level, and every outcome adapts to your choices. Today, those foundations remain intact, but they’ve been enhanced to ensure the experience feels as revolutionary in 2025 as it did in 2000."
Whilst there was no official confirmation of the plans for other consoles, PC and Xbox players can breathe a sigh of relief, because it will be available on those platforms as well. A Steam page for the game is now available to pre-purchase, with the same being true on the Xbox store in the USA, UK and EU countries.
This will likely come as better news to console players, as PC gamers have spent years modding the game to within an inch of its life, including with significant updates to the visuals that have already brought it into the modern day.
The only thing dampening the mood right now is the reaction to the limited look we've had at the game, with many claiming in the YouTube comments that it doesn't do enough to bring the graphics forward to 2025 standards.

If those snippets haven't put you off, the big date to keep an eye out for is 5 February, with the game set to release then on all platforms.
