Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Game Isn't What We Expected

Putting the new-school into the old-school

Cyberpunk 2077 has become the defining game of the genre, and CD Projekt RED's behemoth was always bound to spawn a myriad of other versions and merchandise. That said, the latest multiplayer version of the game is pretty out there, and it looks like incredible fun to boot.

LAI Games has just released Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars, an enormous arcade cabinet that has the base version of the game looking like a relatively boring proposition by comparison. Designed for 1-2 players, the cabinet comes with three game modes designed to keep things interesting when you're in and around Night City.

The first is a story mode which should serve as the most recognisable version of the game for those who have the console/PC edition. You play as a cyber-enhanced mercenary completing missions with impossible requirements, from taking down mob bosses to infiltrating corporate strongholds.

Up next is co-op & versus, where players can team up in in 2v2 battles or go head-to-head to complete tough challenges or compete in versus battles. Lastly, for the Call of Duty heads amongst you, is Sniper Mode. That is all about accuracy, as you attempt to take out enemies and avoid civilians, all with very limited ammo.

The machine also comes with all of the bells and whistles that you'd expect from a shooting-focused arcade cabinet. That includes full haptic feedback, lighting and shooting effects, that should do more than enough to turn it into one of the most immersive versions of the game yet.

Obviously Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars won't necessarily be for everyone (it does take up a lot of space after all and it costs a lot more than just buying the disc for your console), but it looks well worth keeping an eye out for next time you are down at the arcade.
