Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel sounds as if it’s set to be a whole lot larger than its predecessor.

It’s been let slip that the highly anticipated follow-up will allow us to explore not one, but two cities.

Yes, of course, one of those is the returning Night City, although it should look a tad different this time around as it’s now most likely under the rule of Millitech.

Alongside that though, we’ll seemingly get to explore a version of Chicago - or at least a Chicago-esque locale.

This tidbit comes from Mike Pondsmith the creator of the Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop RPG upon which Cyberpunk 2077 is based.

As the creator of this universe, Pondsmith has closely collaborated with CD Projekt RED on the adaptation of his source material.

As reported by CD-Action, Pondsmith let slip at the recent Digital Dragons conference that Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, Project Orion, would take us to a new location.

“There's another city we visit - Night City is still there,” Pondsmith explained.

“I remember looking at it and thinking, ‘Yeah, I get the vibe you're going for and it works; it doesn't feel like Blade Runner, it's more like Chicago gone wrong.’"

Interesting, although I’m pretty sure he shouldn’t have told us this.

As you can imagine though, fans are thrilled by the tease.

“Cool. I'm all for exploring more of the setting,” wrote Reddit user Hoshiko-Yoshida.

“Be over the moon to have Night City and a second map,” added IIXSLAD3XII.

“Honestly I think this is the right move, we’ve already seen all there is to see in Night City,” remarked Sixmlg.

I should warn you, Project Orion is years away from launch.

Heck, even The Witcher IV is assumed to be several years away from release, and Project Orion isn’t due to be the studio’s lead focus until after that point.

It’s with that in mind that this tease will likely have to keep us satiated for quite a long time.
