The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is indeed a legendary game and deserves a remake, but let’s be real, this is so much better.
According to reports Nintendo is furious behind-the-scenes over the leaked Ocarina of Time remake plans, along with other projects coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in the coming years.
Fans have been desperate for a remake of the beloved Nintendo 64 game for what feels like ages, even though we sort of already got one on the Nintendo 3DS. How quickly we forget.
Anyway, this remake is apparently happening but Nintendo might want to pump the brakes on it, before this Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess remake looks much better.
Some gamers out there might already be familiar with JasniMods work but if not, check out this ludicrously good Legend of Zelda mod the creator is currently making for Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth.
Advert
Jasni has been making a number of mods for the game but the one we’re highlighting today reimagines Cloud and Aerith as Link and Zelda respectively, though given what we know about Cloud I’m sure he’d rock Zelda’s outfit too…
The mod takes inspiration from how Link and Zelda looked in Twilight Princess, and it fits surprisingly well with Final Fantasy’s visual style.
Both of these characters look extraordinary, and it feels like one of the arguments that can be for why Twilight Princess deserves a remake over Ocarina of Time.
Ocarina of Time is special and in many ways it’d be sad to see it tampered with, even if there are quite a few areas of improvement.
Twilight Princess on the other hand deserves another crack. The Wii U HD port was nice to see but more could be done with it. Some reworks to Wolf Link’s form for instance would be huge.
It’d also be nice to simply get the game on the Nintendo Switch/Nintendo Switch 2.

Ocarina of Time is playable through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass whereas no version of Twilight Princess currently exists on the system.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker was added to the GameCube line-up of Nintendo Switch Online, but we’re yet to see the other Zelda GameCube games get the same treatment.
With that in mind, why settle for a simple port, when we could have a fully-fledged remake built for the Nintendo Switch 2 instead?
