Yesterday (16 November), a new update rolled out on Xbox consoles, which brought with it some really nice improvements for a number of features as well as a couple of new ones.
You probably remember that back in September, Discord integration was rolled out for everyone on Xbox, allowing users to chat with their friends directly through their console. As cool as this sounded, as The Verge writes, it wasn’t that simple - just joining a voice channel required users to use their PC or phone to transfer the call, which was a bit clunky. Thanks to the new update though, things should operate far more smoothly.
While you’re here, be sure to take a look at this super satisfying Xbox 360 restoration below.
As reported by VGC, it’s now possible to join Discord voice channels via your Xbox itself - all you need to do is open the guide, head into ‘Parties & chats’, and then hit ‘Discord’. Then, you’ll be able to browse through all the servers you’re part of, see who’s hanging out in the voice channels, and pick whichever one you fancy talking in (so long as your account is linked, that is). What’s more, for Xbox Series X/S owners, noise suppression has also been introduced, so your calls should sound crisper than ever before.

As for the other new stuff, users can now send notifications to their friends to prompt them to check out their wish list. From there, if they’re feeling generous, friends can buy games from others’ wish lists - with the holiday season right around the corner, this has come at the perfect time to sort out any potential last minute gifts.
Additionally, a new Captures app boasts “improved viewing, management, and editing” according to Microsoft - ideal for those who like saving and sharing gameplay clips. It’s also now possible to stream directly through your console on Twitch, Streamlabs and Lightstream.
