The Witcher 3 fans agree Gaunter O'Dimm is one of gaming's best villains

Fans think Hearts of Stone's Gaunter O'Dimm is one of The Witcher's best villains, if not one of the greatest in all of gaming.

It’s a clear mark of a good game if years can pass since its release and everyone is still talking about it.

The Witcher 3 is without a doubt a perfect example of this. Not just the base game, but the DLC content continues to celebrated by fans all these years on. Although gamers often cite Blood and Wine as being one of the best pieces of DLC ever (some even believe it’s even better than the main story), fans on Reddit are now discussing Hearts of Stone’s incredible villain, Gaunter O’Dimm.

There are a lot of new Witcher titles in the works right now, and many believe Ciri deserves her own game. Take a look at our thoughts below.

"This chap has to be one of the most intriguing and terrifying characters that I've seen in a game... [Hearts of Stone] was fantastic!” olbri wrote.

Others are in complete agreement: “I swear, realising he was ‘that guy’ you met at the beginning of the game was one of the most disturbing feelings ever. When you remember, how he kind of eerily just disappeared when you spoke to him, but shrugged that off as just how characters in video games leave,” bazilior replied. “After completing my first playthrough, I gotta say that HoS was my [favourite] part of the entire game and GOD is the best villain of all time,” commented subnonymous_. “I remember playing through HoS and a scene came up where he talked to Geralt, but seemed to be looking at the screen rather than... y'know, Geralt. Scared the heck out of me,” added Emmax1997.

Loads of Witcher games are in development right now, including a remake of The Witcher 1 and the next game in the series (which has been dubbed as The Witcher 4, even if it’s not officially called that). Unfortunately, there are no release windows for any of them yet, but rest assured that there’s plenty to look forward to.
