The Witcher 3 fans celebrate Blood And Wine as 'DLC done right'

Fans are all agreed that when it comes to DLCs, Blood And Wine is one of the best out there.

Earlier this month, CD Projekt Red took us all by surprise when they decided to announce their upcoming slate completely out of the blue. No cinematic trailers. No major showcases. Just a simple, ‘Here’s what we’re working on.’ When it comes to The Witcher, fans are in for a treat because there is a lot on the way.

We already knew a fourth instalment in the franchise was in development but it was recently revealed that the game would kickstart a brand new Witcher trilogy. That’s not all. There’s also a standalone Witcher game on the way at an external studio plus a multiplayer title. You’d expect fans to theorise over what these games might entail but instead, they’ve gathered to discuss what a great DLC Blood And Wine was.

Speaking of DLC, CD Projekt Red will soon launch the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. Take a look at the trailer below.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Blood and Wine released back in 2015. The DLC sees Geralt travel to Toussaint in the hopes of tracking down a mysterious beast. Reddit user _Mr_Cheeks took to the site to describe the expansion as “DLC done right,” and plenty of people agreed with him.

Heaviestawesome wrote, “This DLC transformed my love for the entire game,” while chrisbruens added, “Everything about this was good. The design, the characters, the missions. It’s my number one DLC of all games.” Ouchies81 said, “It’s just as good as the base game if not better.” They’re right. We’re big fans over here at GAMINGbible.

Last month, it was revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 would receive a DLC titled Phantom Liberty. Set to release in 2023, Phantom Liberty will introduce a new cast of characters plus a brand new region to explore. Clearly, CD Projekt Red have shown they know what they’re doing when it comes to DLCs with Blood and Wine. Let’s hope for a repeat of that magic.
