This Game Is Basically 'Red Dead Redemption 2' Meets SimCity

Yeehaw.

Things have been a bit quiet on the Red Dead Redemption front for some time now. Other than fans complaining about the state of Red Dead Online, that is.

Rockstar’s 2018 sequel was excellent, of course - its gorgeous open world is so vast and detailed that players still keep managing to find new secrets to this day. But although the boss of the studio’s parent company (Take-Two Interactive) confirmed that we will see a third game eventually, there’s still no word on when that’ll actually happen. But, if you were looking for something to fill the cowboy void (cowvoid), all with an extra sprinkling of SimCity-esque magic, have we got the title for you.

Here it is… take a look at the trailer for Wild West Dynasty right here.

As you can see, developers Moon Punch Studio have crafted the beginnings of a stereotypical wild western world, but it’s up to you to make of it what you want. By the looks of it, you’ll be able to place buildings wherever you like - it doesn’t look like stuff is locked down to a grid, meaning it should (in theory) allow for a huge amount of customisation.

“Cowboys, Settlers & Gunslingers! Build your own ranch, grow it into a settlement and soon more settlers will join you in your quest for happiness and prosperity,” the game’s official synopsis reads. “Will you manage to build a ‘Wild West Dynasty’ or will you end up on the gallows?

“Enter this breathtakingly exciting time and conquer the Wild West. Start from being a lonesome survivor, find a place to settle down and work yourself up the property ladder. Maybe you can even become mayor to one of the hustling and bustling towns. You know no limitations.”

The game is currently available to wishlist on Steam, and is planned for release sometime this year, so if customisable cowboy land is your jam, be sure to stay tuned.
