Blade video game in development at Ubisoft, says insider

A series of intriguing Instagram posts have left fans wondering if a Blade game could be in the works - it's looking promising.

There’s a whole host of Marvel games currently in the works - from the upcoming PS5 exclusive Spider-Man 2, to Marvel’s Wolverine and the unfortunately delayed tactical RPG Midnight Suns (which is now set to release sometime before March next year, rather than 7 October).

Take a look at some Midnight Suns gameplay below, starring Wolverine.

According to a new rumour though, we could be set to get one more. As reported by ComicBook, some recent Instagram posts from actors Alex Martin and Edwin Gaffney seem to suggest that a Blade game could be in the works at Ubisoft.

The posts were first highlighted by YouTuber JorRaptor, and show images of the two actors in motion capture suits, with very visible Ubisoft logos. The two are also pictured holding what appear to be sword or katana-like weapons, and Blade, of course, is known for fighting off his foes with a sword. Coincidence? Maybe.

It doesn’t stop there, though. One of the images shows Gaffney holding a clapperboard, which not only shows that the project is something to do with Marvel, but the director is “B. Tariq”. We can only assume that this is Bassam Tariq, who, for those unaware, is also the director of the upcoming movie Blade, which is currently set to release next year.

So, all the evidence seems to be pointing towards a Blade game, and there’s no doubt that fans would love to see it. As usual though, with any speculation, take it with a pinch of salt until we get official news.
