The long-awaited Tomb Raider series is available to stream on Netflix today and fans are hyped to see the new Lara Croft.

We first heard that the iconic video game series, Tomb Raider, was getting an animated adaptation on Netflix in 2021, so it’s fair to say that this new series has been a long time coming.

“The series continues right after the events of the Survivor trilogy of video games — Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider — and finds Lara (voiced by Hayley Atwell) abandoning her friends to embark on increasingly more perilous solo adventures,” reads the description of the show.

To have a new voice actor replace Camilla Luddington from the Survivor trilogy was a bold move, even if it meant hiring the talents of the MCU’s, Hayley Atwell.

In our interview with Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft showrunner Tasha Huo, she explained: “I love Hayley Atwell. I think she's an incredible actress and she has this amazing mix of dramatic force and comedic timing, which is exactly who Lara is. We're sort of moving Lara of the ‘Survivor Trilogy’ into the Lara of old, who was very funny and quippy.”

Replying to a tweet from DiscussingFillm, fans shared their excitement for the new animated series. “I'm going to be watching it soon,” said D_S002.

“This animated series beautifully captures Lara Croft's spirit and thrilling escapades, making it a must-watch for both newcomers and long-time fans of the franchise,” explained Aam7860. “It’s great to see such a strong female lead in action.

“I’m here for it baby,” exclaimed CrackaOfficial with JAGtalks adding “I'm looking forward to this.”
