Star Wars quietly confirmed what's under a Jawa's hood, and we all missed it

But do you actually want the nightmare fuel?

I’ll be honest, I don’t think I’d want to cross paths with a Jawa.

Sure, they seem friendly on the surface. It’s pretty rare that you see a Jawa actually firing its blaster unless it’s under attack.

That being said, I’ve always found them to be a tad shifty … opportunistic if you will.

I have a feeling that if you spent too long with a Jawa, you’d probably end up getting the short end of a deal you didn’t even know you were participating in.

My personal grievances aside, they are a beloved species within the Star Wars universe.

Whether you love or hate the Jawas, Tatooine certainly wouldn’t be the same without them.

For years though, many of us have been asking the same question. What does a Jawa look like underneath its hood?

Technically, there is no canon visual answer; written and colloquial descriptions of the Jawas do exist though.

In many of the original Star Wars novels, the Jawas are described as rodent-like creatures.

As such, we can assume that Jawas are, to an extent, furry. Clearly though, they have fairly large, prominent yellow eyes.

If Jawas are rodent-like, does that mean they also have giant teeth? Because now I’m even less inclined to cross paths with one.

If you go for a little peruse online, there are plenty of fan mock-ups based both on the description of the species from the novels and our live-action reference points.

Most of these mock-ups look like, well, hairless alien rats. Jawas being furry though is one thing that is widely agreed upon, especially since Peli Motto’s admittance in The Book of Boba Fett.

In fact, Motto claimed she had dated a Jawa so I guess, uh, anatomically, they must not be all that far removed from humans.

Fans are divided on their own thoughts on this topic.

“Would we be able to sleep at night after seeing what they really look like?” asked Reddit user iramalama.

“Given their overall behaviour, I'd expect them to be somewhat rodent-like in appearance. That said, those glowing eyes could make one have second thoughts about that,” added Rebatsune.

If you ask me, Star Wars has offered us more than enough official clues. I think it’s perfect that we’re left to piece those together in our minds only.
