If you ask me, Jar Jar Binks suffered a great injustice.
As we’re all well aware, the character was largely written out of the prequel trilogy due to major fan backlash after he was branded as too silly or annoying.
Personally, I don’t mind a little flavouring of those two things within my Star Wars.
Sadly, however, many didn’t agree; ‘fans’ even hurled abuse at actor Ahmed Best.

Thankfully, the actor has rekindled his relationship with the franchise which is wonderful to see because he was only doing his job and whatever you think of Jar Jar, Best’s performance is arguably now iconic.
The other downside to the sidelining of Jar Jar is that it was never overly clear what became of the character.
Following his prominent appearance in The Phantom Menace, Jar Jar was made a delegate to the Galactic Senate in Attack of the Clones.
He only appeared in a couple of scenes but did greet Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker after they arrived in Coruscant.

Later in the film, he speaks in support of Palpatine to the senate having been manipulated into believing it was the right thing to do.
You may recall that within Revenge of the Sith, Jar Jar said nothing at all outside of a single “scuse me”.
He can be seen in Padmé’s funeral procession.
You may then be wondering what happened to the character after this.

Well, his fate has actually been confirmed; you just need to know where to look.
Star Wars creator George Lucas provided the answers you seek to MTV many years ago.
“He goes back to Naboo and he’s a representative,” Lucas began.
“He probably stays on the council, he’s probably in the senate, because it becomes completely worthless. Senators are just for show, which they talk about in Episode IV. Actually, in Episode IV they get disbanded, so Jar Jar probably goes home to his wife and kids.”

The word “probably” does suggest that Lucas hasn’t given Jar Jar’s happily ever after a ton of thought, but there you go.
I’m as surprised as you to find out that the character has both a wife and kids.
I’m not sure we ever actually see any Gungan children within the main Star Wars films.
If you want to know what they look like though, seek out Roo-Roo Page who features in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

I do like the idea of Jar Jar settling down as a family man. He deserves it after being bullied out of the spotlight.
