Disney has yet to announce a release date for the next instalment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise but a recent comment hints at the return of Captain Jack Sparrow himself.
Starting back in 2003 with Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, the Pirates of the Caribbean series went on to become one of the most beloved Disney tales which was definitely in part to the portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow played by Johnny Depp.
Depp last took on the role of Captain Jack Sparrow in 2017’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales but following a high-profile legal case against his ex-wife Amber Heard amidst rumours of abuse, the actor cut ties with Disney and the pirate series seemingly came to an end.
However, in recent years, rumours surrounding Pirates of the Caribbean 6 and Depp’s return have been swirling online and as Hollywood has a short memory, it would make sense for it to come to fruition.

Now rumours are amping up more than ever thanks to a brand-new Disney Parks experience which will bring the world of Pirates of the Caribbean to an interactive lounge.
The lounge will feature a true-to-life pirate-themed bar called The Beak and Barrel which will be situated next to the iconic park ride and just so happens to feature major nods to Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow.
Of course, this could just be because of his iconic portrayal as the main character but it could also mean that Disney is willing to bring back the actor for a brand-new movie.
This would definitely pair with recent comments made by producer Jerry Bruckheimer who spoke to Entertainment Weekly about Depp’s potential return.

"If he likes the way the part's written, I think he would do it,” he said.
Not only that but Depp’s former co-star Orlando Bloom also expressed an interest in getting the “band back together” in a future instalment.
Neither Disney or Depp himself have confirmed the return of Captain Jack Sparrow in a potential Pirates of the Caribbean 6 but it is no doubt that his return would garner a mixed response from fans.
