One of the best MCU fan-casts for Wolverine has confirmed that he’s had talks with Marvel regarding a future role.
Despite the ongoing debate of whether an actor is comic-book accurate or not, I think that many of us can agree that Hugh Jackman has nailed the role of Wolverine in the live-action Marvel movies.
Hugh Jackman has performed the role of Logan so well, as well as looking the part, that it’s going to be difficult seeing anyone else play the live-action Wolverine when the popular Aussie actor hangs up his adamantium claws.
Over the years, fans have cast who they believe to be a perfect replacement for Hugh Jackman, with the likes of Daniel Radcliffe, Henry Cavill and Jeremy Allen White, to name a few, making the social media rounds.

As reported by The Direct, another popular name that has been mentioned by fans to be cast as the new Wolverine is Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Sing, Tetris).
However, Taron Egerton has revealed he’s had conversations with Marvel about playing another X-Men character when the movie franchise was owned by 20th Century Fox before the Disney acquisition.
When speaking with Josh Horowitz on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Taron Egerton revealed that conversations had taken place for him to play the role of Scott Summers, aka, Cyclops.
“I honestly can't remember, it might have been Cyclops? Maybe, I don't know,” said the actor. “It was a conversation that happened years ago, back when it was a Fox thing, there was a Cyclops conversation years ago.”

At this time, we can only speculate who will be the next Wolverine, but considering that Taron Egerton has already held talks about playing an X-Men character (albeit before Disney), perhaps that door has been left open.
At the time of writing, the’ X-Men reboot has not begun production. But it’s been speculated that we may learn more by the time we reach Avengers: Secret Wars, which is currently scheduled to be released on 17 December 2027.
