Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox was just as emotional as viewers to see Elden Henson’s return as Foggy Nelson.
After a rocky, but still solid start with Season 1, Daredevil: Born Again is back on our screens with a bombastic second season that makes us wish Wednesday was every day.
Born Again made history not just in terms of Disney Plus ratings but also finally giving the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen his iconic DD suit logo, something that hasn’t been attempted since Daredevil first became a TV series all the way back in 2015.
While every episode of Season 2 has been a banger in its own right, the most recent Episode 5 hit differently, and Charlie Cox told GAMINGbible what it was like to put together at last Friday’s BAFTA Games Awards.
Episode 5 takes viewers back to before it all started with flashbacks that predate the Netflix series’ first episode.

While Vanessa fights for her life in hospital, Daredevil is fighting for not just his own life but Bullseye’s as well, with interjections from the past showing one of Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson’s earliest cases as attorneys at law.
It’s beautifully done and to go one step further, the production team even illuminated and edited the flashbacks as if they were filmed during the Netflix days.
Speaking on this as well as working with Elden Henson again Charlie Cox said it was “really important” to get it right.
“Elden is the heartbeat. Foggy Nelson is one of the heartbeats of the MCU and it's very painful to not have him around on a daily basis, but lovely that we can bring him back," he told us.
Cox went on to laugh about the flashback scenes, saying, “That’s a flashback to 2015, when we were originally playing the characters for the first time. It was kind of wild. There's probably not many other actors who can say that they flash back to their original selves playing the part.”
Like we said before, Daredevil: Born Again had a rough start as it was originally going to be a very different show prior to rewrites and reshoots.
What eventually landed on Disney Plus was a bit of a Frankenstein's monster yet for all its faults, it worked really well.
When asked about the momentum the show now has and how that raises the bar for Season 3, Cox said, “If you're going to warrant coming back and rebooting the show, you've got to change something. You've got to up the ante somehow.
“We're just trying to lean into the things that we did before. Disney and Marvel have been incredibly forthcoming with allowing us to do that kind of stuff and it's just a great gift that keeps on giving. I’ve got to be one of the luckiest actors in the MCU.”
Charlie Cox also spoke about his time playing Gustave in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, as well as future games he may or may not star in.
