The ideal replacement for Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine has already been found, and they were selected by the actor himself.
Having played Wolverine for over two decades, it’s understandable that none of us want to admit that a replacement for Hugh Jackman is necessary.
Even though Jackman came out of retirement to take on the role again in Deadpool & Wolverine, this isn’t to say the actor wants to keep playing Logan for another 24 years.

Could Deadpool & Wolverine be the last film starring Hugh Jackman as Wolverine?
While difficult for some to accept, Marvel has the perfect new Wolverine, chosen by Jackman in 2015.
Eight years ago, when interviewed by MTV UK, Jackman said that he felt Tom Hardy was an excellent choice to continue Wolverine’s legacy.

At the time, many a Marvel fan agreed with this suggestion.
YouTube user @sentinelkevin7375 posted, “If Wolverine thinks Tom Hardy can pull it off, then so do I.”
“Yes, Hardy would be awesome. I think he can pull it off,” read another comment.
Of course, since that time, Hardy has become the face of Eddie Brock in the Venom films, and thus his chances of playing Wolverine have been slim.

However, with Venom: The Last Dance reportedly being Hardy’s last outing as Venom, the door is now partially open for Hardy to become a different superhero.
This definitely feels like a better fit than having Henry Cavill return as Wolverine.
Despite playing a Wolverine variant in Deadpool & Wolverine, many fans agree that Cavill isn’t quite right to take on the role full time.
Elsewhere within the MCU, other replacements are also taking place, this time for Spider-Man.

The name change for the MCU’s new Spider-Man may have been done quietly, however, that doesn’t mean the project is any less intriguing because of that.
Still, with all these changes getting underway, fans can’t help but think that The Avengers 6 will be the end of the MCU as we know it.
Sad though this may be, this could allow Hardy to step into the role we’ve been waiting for him to play since 2015.
