The Russo brothers have dropped a surprise Avengers: Doomsday teaser, albeit one that I’m not quite sure what we’re supposed to glean from.
Avengers: Doomsday isn’t set to land until 18 December 2026, but it’s reportedly already wrapped filming.
I’m imagining it’s going to be a pretty effects-heavy film then if it’s spending well over a year in post-production.
It’s with that in mind that a teaser trailer is likely some way off; I personally wouldn’t expect one to land until we’re several months into 2026.

To tide curious fans over, directing duo Anthony and Joe Russo have dropped an on-set photo to subtly tease the film.
The only problem is that it’s so subtle that no one quite knows what this picture is supposedly giving away.
“Look hard,” they captioned it.
I’ll let you take a look at the photo below.
As you can see, it shows what I’m pretty certain is one of the brothers sitting in a chair on set.

The grey and white photo is taken within some kind of green screen studio, with plenty of filming equipment laying around.
There’s no obvious takeaway from it though, but the caption wouldn’t say “look hard” if this photo wasn’t hiding some kind of big tease.
You may recall that a similar photo dropped ahead of the release of Avengers: Endgame with items in the photo spelling out ‘Endgame’.
It was very hard to spot, so I’m hoping those same internet sleuths are busy trying to figure out what’s going on here.

One theory is that items in the photo spell ‘aim’ or ‘A.I.M’.
A.I.M or Advanced Idea Mechanics is a group which has already surfaced within the MCU in Iron Man 3, assisting in the development of the Extremis virus and the Iron Patriot armour.
My only theory here is that A.I.M could somehow be linked into how an alternate universe’s Tony Stark became Doctor Doom?
Others think items in the photo spell out ‘AvX’ which could be standing in for Avengers vs. X-Men, hinting towards a stand-off between the two groups.

There’s largely just a ton of confusion though.
“Brothers I can't see s**t,” wrote Reddit user Afraid_Plane_3746.
“Every time these come out, it makes me feel so stupid,” added Intelligent_Creme351.
I guess we won’t know whether any of the theories are right until the film actually drops.

I’m already thinking that either the A.I.M or AvX lines of thinking are onto something though.
