The upcoming release of Avengers: Doomsday is a pretty big moment for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Can it recapture some of the old magic that was seemingly lost following the release of Avengers: Endgame in 2019?
The two-part defeat of Thanos served as a natural stopping point for many fans, who had been invested in the MCU for over a decade, starting with those early Iron-Man releases that thrust Robert Downey Jr into the spotlight once again. I know I was hooked!
We know Robert Downey Jr is set to return as the overarching antagonist in Avengers: Doomsday, though we aren't quite sure yet how the writers intend to explain his uncanny resemblance to billionaire, playboy philanthropist Tony Stark.
Fortunately, for those in charge of shareholder expectations, it does seem as though this next release has started to draw in some of the old crowd, and hype is definitely building ahead of its eventual release in December.

As part of that, many have been searching for clues as to what we might get in the trailers that we have seen so far, as well as via wider tidbits from the cast and crew.
But a now-deleted (sus) post on social media from director brothers Joe and Anthony Russo has sent the gathered audience into a tailspin, as they scramble to uncover exactly what it means.
Avengers: Doomsday Trailers Revealed as Stories and Clues

Over on Reddit, one user shared a now-deleted Instagram post from the Russo brothers, with a very interesting caption, “What you’ve been watching for the last four weeks are not teasers… or trailers. They are stories. They are clues. Pay attention.”
As you might expect, that immediately set fans into a frenzy, as they searched for the specific elements that the brothers Russo may be referring to.
"Doom is coming after Steve's child, Love, Rachel/Nathan and Franklin. That's what the teasers are depicting, although without context, each child has immense multiversal powers and/or are anchor beings of their respective universes," one comment read.
"I knew it! I was talking to people about this. I said that these “teasers” were actually more like prologues than any kind of actual trailers," another added.

A third posited that the marketing team are just trying to make up for lost time, saying, "I made a post a few months back saying that the build up for Doomsday was so poor that they would need to release teasers and trailers during the entire year to fix that. I’m guessing that almost none of what we have seen so far will be in the movie and we will get 20+ more of these before release day."
Whatever those trailers do really mean, this is a huge opportunity for Marvel to right the ship, and one that they need to grab with both hands if they want the MCU to thrive moving forward.
What do you think it could all mean?
