The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been temporarily put on hold after star Tom Holland was taken to hospital.
The Peter Parker actor was, according to a report by Deadline, hospitalised whilst filming the 2026 release.
A source close to The Sun explained that Holland suffered a mild concussion during a stunt gone wrong.
Details of exactly what went wrong have not yet come to light, but The Sun vaguely stated that it is believed that Holland “cracked his head in a fall”.

According to Deadline, no one else was hurt, although The Sun reported that a woman, believed to be a stunt double, was also taken to hospital.
They further added that the £150 million movie was in the midst of filming at Leavesden Studios in Watford, UK.
The East of England Ambulance Service had this to say, as per The Sun: “We were called at 10.30am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford. An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care.”
This somewhat debunks The Sun’s earlier claim that two individuals were taken to hospital, unless one self-submitted for an assessment out of precaution.

If you’ve been on social media this weekend, you may have seen clips of Holland attending a charity event alongside fiancée Zendaya.
This is believed to have taken place after Holland suffered the concussion, seemingly showing just how mild the injury is.
That being said, Holland did supposedly leave the event early after he began to feel ill.
Side effects of concussion include headaches, dizziness, nausea, and vision problems.

These sensations can last for around two weeks for mild cases, according to the NHS.
By all accounts, several publications claim that Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to begin filming again very soon after allowing Holland a few days of rest.
We don’t know the exact extent of the delay, however.
The bottom line is though that this is not going to affect the film’s release date of 31 July, 2026.

The chatter had somewhat quelled around the film prior to this incident, but I’d argue that’s a great thing.
It was so thrilling to see the footage and images fans captured of Holland on set filming in Glasgow, Scotland, a few weeks ago.
That being said, we don’t want to see the whole film in advance of its release; that would spoil the fun.
I’m glad that plenty is being filmed behind closed doors so that we’re in for some surprises.

Most of all though, I’m glad that everyone on set is safe following this small mishap.
