Avengers: Doomsday looks like it might shun Tom Holland in favour of another Spider-Man.

Without question, Spider-Man is one of the most popular comic book characters of all time, especially when it comes to the world of Marvel.

Whether it’s in the pages of a comic book, an animated TV series or a blockbuster Hollywood production, we can never get enough of our friendly neighbourhood hero, Peter Parker.

Next year, we’re being treated to the fourth MCU movie starring Tom Holland with Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This will make Tom Holland the most prolific actor to wear the webbed suit. At the time of writing, he’s three vs three with another popular Peter Parker, Tobey Maguire.

With Avengers: Doomsday featuring such a large cast of characters, it’s been suspected that it might feature more than one Spider-Man, and that might end up being the case; however, there’s a chance that it might not include Tom Holland.

As reported by Comicbook.com, entertainment insider and leaker of information, Daniel Richtman, has claimed that Tobey Maguire may have a role to play in Avengers: Doomsday. The size of his role is unclear at this time.

FAN meets the G.O.A.T

To add fuel to that speculative fire that Tobey Maguire will feature in Avengers: Doomsday, a fan spotted the star in the UK and managed to bag a selfie with the popular actor. Avengers: Doomsday is currently being filmed in the UK.

So, given the rumours from Daniel Richtman, and now this selfie, it’s looking increasingly likely that Tobey Maguire is in Avengers: Doomsday, after all. Unless, of course, he just so happened to be visiting the set as a guest.

“Cannot believe I bumped into Tobey Maguire in London yesterday. Such a nice guy,” said Twitter user Curtis1192, sharing the selfie in question.

It should be stated that Curtis1192 has since turned the comments off in this tweet, which I assume is due to being overwhelmed by the response, which is fair.

“I didn’t know he took pics with fans anymore, that’s so cool,” replied OhMyEmz.

“The best Spider-Man that ever lived,” declared 230ceans.

“Bro met the real Spider-Man,” said champboa13.

“THE G.O.A.T IS BACK!” yelled Anstav.

Of course, it’s not been officially confirmed that Tobey Maguire is 100% in Avengers: Doomsday, despite the mounting evidence, but we’ll update you once we learn more.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases in cinemas on 31 July 2026, followed by Avengers: Doomsday on 18 December 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars on 17 December 2027.
