Despite the number of times Marvel executives stand on a stage and tell us something is coming, it’s not always set in stone.

This seems to be the case with Blade which, for some reason, is stuck in ‘limbo.’

Marvel's Blade will be here sooner than a film from the looks of it

It’s hard to imagine why Blade is struggling to make it to the screen when Marvel has a world of writers and directors at their fingertips.

However, creatives keep leaving the project, and it seems Marvel just can’t get the wheels moving.

This is disappointing for the leagues of fans who love the original Blade films and want to see Marvel take on the franchise themselves.

Over on Twitter, many fans are quoting Wesley Snipes's recent cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine by saying “There’s only ever gonna be one Blade.”

And if things carry on the way they are, he might be right.

NerdicViking says, “Put Wesley Snipes in it and make it Blade! Seriously, though. It needs to be a B movie budget 70-90 million max. It will do 350+ at the box office. Rinse and repeat. Make popcorn flicks.”

Given Ryan Reynolds’ recent comments on wanting a ‘Logan’ style send-off for Blade, it wouldn’t be a bad idea in the wake of this ‘limbo.’

Blade was announced months ago and is set to star Iscar winner Mahershala Ali in the lead role.

Another Twitter user, Jaydub, commented “We got our Blade fix. We can hold tight!”

Most are asking for a Snipes return, while plenty of voices are attempting to tell Marvel to cancel it and return to the franchise when things are more concrete.

With the recent success of Deadpool and Wolverine it’s clear Marvel wants another R-rated film and Blade was supposed to be it.

Perhaps it’s a sign from the universe to focus on closing the Multiverse Saga and start from scratch afterward.
