Fans will seemingly never forgive Disney for recasting one of the MCU’s actors, although the upset seems to be more as a result of how they treated the actor more than the recast itself.
We’ve seen a bunch of Marvel Cinematic Universe recasts over the past decade.
Some of them were circumstantial, like how Terrence Howard was recast as War Machine due the bad blood between him and Disney, or how Edward Norton was recast as The Hulk due to his unwillingness to sign a multi-picture deal.
Sometimes though, a few of these recasts are a little baffling.

Case in point, several fans over on @djodjeee_’s Tweet are still apparently sour about Emma Fuhrmann being replaced by Kathryn Newton in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
“True. What's wrong with the previous actress anyway? Nothing”, commented user @bloodyCain60.
“Ugh, it made sense in Endgame since she was still really young when filming, but to further replace her with Kathryn Newton when Abby had gotten older was rough, they should've brought her back as Cassie, she was definitely the heart of the first two movies”, replied user @MegaTalinArt.
“Yea, tbh, they did her kinda dirty, don't get me wrong, I like Kathryn Newton tho as Cassie and she was great in Ant-Man 3 but it don't take away the fact they did the actress from Endgame kinda dirty”, commented user @BULLETSCARER22.

In case you missed this one, Emma Fuhrmann originally played Scott Lang’s daughter, Cassie Lang, in Avengers: Endgame.
Her role in the film was relatively small, but fans were still shocked to see her replaced with Kathryn Newton in the third Ant-Man film.
Nobody seems to know exactly why exactly Disney chose to recast the actor, considering Fuhrmann seemed age-appropriate for the role and her performance was well-received, but I’d wager that it merely has to do with Kathryn Newton being a bit more famous.
