One of the stars behind Avengers: Doomsday may have just accidentally let slip that we’ll be getting some very comic book accurate costumes in the upcoming MCU movie.
The original Fox X-Men films were oddly averse to showing Marvel’s mutant family in their original comic book outfits– at least for the original trilogy of films, at least.
Fox did eventually get around to showing off the comic accurate look in X-Men: First Class, but by the time that film rolled around, the cast of the original trilogy had missed their opportunity to don their classic looks.
It would seem one of the original actors from the trilogy may have just revealed that we’ll be seeing the X-Men actors reprising their roles in the MCU in their proper costumes though, as he revealed a little sneak peak from behind the scenes of Avengers: Doomsday.

As spotted by Comic Book Movie’s Mark Cassidy, Alan Cumming (who originally played Nightcrawler in the second Fox X-Men movie) posted some BTS pictures from Avengers: Doomsday’s shoot on Instagram… and one of them shows Nightcrawler’s classic red and black costume.
Over on Avengers Updates’ Twitter post showing off Cumming’s pictures, fans are already thrilled that Disney seems to be incorporating the comic book accurate costumes into the new film.
“Oh we getting comic accurate nightcrawler”, commented user @TheToomson.
“IS THAT HIS LOOK ON THE BOX?” replied user @ThatLegoGamer.

It should also be noted that Cumming also spoiled a few other details regarding Avengers: Doomsday too, notably that he had to shoot a fight scene with Pedro Pascal.
Given the fact that he has spoiled some stuff already, I’d say there’s a good chance that there’s a good chance that we weren’t supposed to see this little behind the scenes glimpse.
Here’s hoping it is true, because the OG X-Men cast deserves their opportunity to wear the proper suits.
