Cancellations have been more of an everyday occurrence in recent years with highly-anticipated projects getting the chop either ahead of their release or in the middle of seasons.

Well, that was almost the case for one Marvel Studios’ project as due to being on hold for a long time, many believed it would be cancelled.

However, a recent report reveals that that may not be the case.

The project in question is Midnight Sons, which is of course based on the team with the same name from the Marvel Comics and consists of beloved characters such as Ghost Rider, Blade, Doctor Strange, Morbius, Werewolf by Night, Hellstrom, Jennifer Kale, and Man-Thing.

Despite rumours of it being cancelled, a recent Patreon post by Marvel insider Daniel Richtman reveals that Midnight Sons is back in development but its previous screenwriter Michael Green is no longer attached to the project.

Not only that but with Marvel’s Blade also on hold, it seems as though Blade will no longer have a standalone movie but will merge with Midnight Sons instead.

Additionally, Richtman goes on to claim that Oscar Isaac will reprise his role as Moon Knight for the movie and Ghost Rider will also make an appearance although an actor has not yet been confirmed for the latter.

Of course, this news should be taken with a pinch of salt but it would definitely be exciting to see such iconic characters team up in a Midnight Sons movie.

News of the potential project recently broke on r/MarvelStudios_Rumours and fans were quick to share their thoughts.

User SpoiledMilkTeeth wrote, “I sincerely hope this is true. Werewolf by Night and Dr. Strange: MOM proved that horror elements can be done exceptionally well in the MCU and comic book movies at-large.

Of course, I also hope this would mean that Blade gets another shot at development.”

Another user agreed with the hype, adding, “Man-Thing, Werewolf by night, Elsa Bloodstone, Black Knight, Moon Knight, Blade and they're golden.

Could use it as a way to introduce Blade? Have Doctor Strange maybe cameo - think it could be very fun!”

Let us hope this Midnight Sons rumour is true.
