MCU Iron Man gives seal of approval to his successor

"Please tell me Mr. Ramos isn't replacing me as Doctor Doom..."

Robert Downey Jr. himself has officially given his seal of approval to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next Iron Man replacement, and the way he did it couldn’t have been cuter.

Ironheart, the next big upcoming MCU miniseries on Disney+, is set to drop on June 24, and it will feature Dominique Thorne in the titular role as Riri Williams (reprising her role from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever).

Although Ironheart isn’t exactly a replacement for Iron Man in the official sense in the comics, she will, for all intents and purposes, be the MCU’s replacement for him, which is probably why RDJ himself appeared to wish Thorne luck during an interview on Good Morning America.

Thorne was halfway through an interview with the panel, alongside her co-star Anthony Ramos (who will be portraying the villain Parker "The Hood" Robbins in Ironheart), when Robert Downey Jr.’s message interrupted the segment.

“I couldn't be happier than to be seeing you bring Riri Williams to life, but the hood has me nervous... is the hood green? Please tell me Mr Ramos is not replacing me as Doctor Doom via Parker Robbins,” RDJ joked.

“Anyway, I don't wanna step on your interview. Long story short, Iron Man loves Ironheart.”

When asked how RDJ’s support made her feel, Thorne revealed that he’d actually be supportive throughout the entire process of filming Ironheart.

"Ironheart loves Iron Man too! Oh man... yeah, he's been so, so supportive. It's really been amazing”, Thorne replied.

“I do come from a family that loves the MCU... I have pictures of my baby brother being Iron Man and me being Iron Girl... it goes so deep. Shortly after we finished filming in Chicago is when I got the first phone call from him, and he has been so sweet, through and through.”

Gotta admit, that’s adorable.

Here’s hoping that the show is half as good as Disney and Marvel are hyping it up to be, because I have pretty high hopes myself.
