Marvel’s The Multiverse Saga has definitely felt the effects of franchise fatigue.
Fair to say, this second era hasn’t quite seen the dizzying heights achieved by The Infinity Saga, but it does feel as if the tide is shifting.
The MCU has produced a steady stream of strong films in the last couple of years, from Deadpool & Wolverine to Thunderbolts*.

And there’s plenty of hype surrounding what’s coming up, particularly the imminent Fantastic Four: The First Steps.
By the time Avengers: Doomsday lands next year, I honestly would not be surprised if the MCU managed to return to the box office figures last seen with 2018’s Infinity War and 2019’s Endgame.
The hype surrounding Doomsday is already palpable, with fans eating up every single theory and set leak.
If that’s you, you’re going to enjoy what I have to say next, as some think we have just caught a glimpse at Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom.

On set, the character is quite obviously being kept under wraps, but a production cap worn by the actor may instead be hiding a tease.
In a video posted by Good Morning America, RDJ was featured wearing a Pinewood Studios cap - which is where Doomsday is being made.
Above the logo, an image of Doom could be seen - a comic-accurate image, but one that seemingly hasn’t been directly lifted from any particular comic.

As pointed out by The Direct, the image most closely resembles the character’s Silver Age design.
Is this just a nod to the character’s comic book history? Or is this a concept of what the character might look like in the MCU?
Honestly, it’s impossible to say either way. Fans might be clutching at straws here.
With Avengers: Doomsday now not set to land until December of next year, it’s incredibly unlikely that we’ll see anything in the way of a trailer within 2025.

Heck, it could be a full year before Marvel decides to ramp up marketing.
Of course though, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for leaks.
